Increasingly over the last five years or so, we have seen a significant increase in pharmacy errors that have caused damage to clients and their families. While class action law suits and large scale claims against pharmaceutical companies are more widely known, the drastic uptick in pharmacy errors we have seen lately have occurred at the local pharmacy level at the time when the medication is filled. Often this involves prescription bottles filled with incorrect medication, but can also relate to misprinted prescription labels or dangerous practices involving blood testing products. Examples include a pharmacy incorrectly placing a scheduled narcotic in a bottle labeled as a routine maintenance medication; a pharmacy label incorrectly instructing a patient to take multiple pills at once rather than over the course of several hours per physician orders; or a used, malfunctioning glucose testing product being used to a fill a medication resulting in a patient being exposed to blood of unknown origin.
These types of local pharmacy errors can not only cause significant and hazardous side effects to the patient, but also be a potential danger to the patient's family and public in general. We can assist clients in their recovery and provide appropriate representation in claims for damages made for themselves and their families.
